How do I know if Todayter is right for me?

At Todayter we try to take the guesswork out of dating. By implementing a dating feedback system, you'll get to see how people stack up against the rest.

How can I get the most out of my Todayter experience?

Go out with cool people. Have fun. Give honest feedback and get honest feedback. Live, learn, and do it again. Todayter is not about endless online chat relationships. It's about dating. It's about going online to get offline. We reward your participation outside of the site more so than on the site. It's about dating. And it should be. Go for it, one date at a time.

How do you compare to other dating sites?

We've restructured online dating. People are held accountable for how they act on a date. Also, we put the ‘game' in the dating game. It opens the gates to another part of someones personality, reflected in the badges they've earned for their activity.

Here's why it's better:

• It gives you more insight into what people are really like in person.
• It transcends some of the negative stigma about online dating, embracing the "game" in the dating game.

Above all, it takes some of the guesswork out of dating. It helps you see something unique about that person- what other people think.

What is beta?

Well, we're currently still testing for any possible bugs and looking for some much needed feedback about how to improve our service and overall experience. For example, if somebody keeps sending you message about how to win a free laptop, well that's a problem. Let us know and we'll try to fix it ASAP.

I live outside of NYC and I want to join! What do I do?

Please sign up! We're headquartered in NYC, but Todayter is for everyone. Feel free to invite all your friends, have them invite theirs and so on!

Date Registry

How do you request a date? What's the process?

When you propose a date on the Todayter Date Registry, you'll be given the option to request a date from people with whom you've had a mutual correspondence with only. When your request has been processed, we'll send a confirmation email to that special someone. Your date will remain as ‘pending' till your date confirms it. Upon confirmation, you'll both receive an email confirming the date.

Date Feedback

The problem with most online dating sites is that you only get to know what a person decides to reveal about themselves. That's why we've decided to implement a feedback system at Todayter.

What if the person was nice, but there was no romantic connection?

The Golden Rule: It pays to be nice, people. Feedback is about a person's overall behavior, not compatibility.

Profile

Why don't you ask more profile questions, like the match questions on OkCupid?

We've tried to design a profile that will allow you to tell people something about yourself while avoiding the kinds of dehumanizing, misleading, and superficial questions that too often litter other dating sites. Does it really matter if someone reads to you at night? It's a filler question. Now, go ahead and check out a person's Datability rating or whether or not they smoke - that's actually relevant information.

Messages

What happens when I send a message?

When you send a message, it goes to the person you sent it to through our system. That person will also get an email message in their personal email account saying they have new Todayter mail. Your email address is never revealed in this process.

Crush List

What happens when I click, "Add Crush"?

We send a note to the person saying that you are crushing on them. The dater is then bookmarked under your Crush List.

Flagging and Blocking Daters

If you click the flag we get a notification saying that there is an unsavory date in the system. If you decide to block a user, that dater is deleted from your stream.

Settings

Can I change my username?

If you want to change your username just email us at theteam@todayter.com and give us a few options for what you'd like to change it to.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, of course. Just send an email to theteam@todayter.com and your request will be processed within the week.

I have an idea about how to make your site better. What should I do with it?

We welcome any and all feedback. Just go to the feedback area and let us know!

Safety and Privacy

What do you do to make the site safe?

We ask people to flag sketchy people and messages so that we can deal with them. This includes people who request money, try to sell you anything, try to offer you a job or any other "special opportunity," send harassing or offensive emails, propose sexual or non-public dates, use inappropriate photos, or violate any other Todayter.com policy.

We also have a filtering system that tells us when people are doing bad things...it doesn't always catch everything, but it catches a lot.

We try to create a general tone of safety, authenticity, and positivism.

We kick the creeps and weirdos off our site.

What should I do if I see something inappropriate on the site?

Click on the Report Spam icon. This icon can be found on each person's profile, and on each private message. We'll review flagged content and try to take care of the issue. Thanks for helping us keep the site clean and safe.

Who can see me on Todayter?

Only people who are registered members of Todayter can see your profile, your date feedback, etc. People who come directly to visit Todayter only have access to the Todayter Blog until they sign up.

Why should I promote my business through Todayter.com?

Users on Todayter are constantly going on dates. Our site has a database of users that can propose your establishment with a single click. It's the perfect way advertise.

How can I promote my business through Todayter?

Can I advertise on Todayter?

Of course! Advertising dates at an establishment will take priority at Todayter, but we're flexible. Just let us know what you have in mind and we'll see what we can do.

Is Todayter interested in partnerships?

Yes. In order to make the Todayter experience better for our users. And we want to build partnerships with people who can share Todayter with lots of people. So if you have an idea for a partnership, contact us at theteam@todayter.com.
